Pleasant Plains, IL (WAND) – The community is rallying in support of the family of a Pleasant Plains football player who was injured during the September 24th game.
Jaden Wiesenmeier, senior running back for the national team’s Pleasant Plains football program, exited the game and later collapsed on the team’s sidelines. CPR was performed until EMS arrived and rushed him to the hospital.
It was then discovered that Jaden had suffered a subdural hematoma after being devastated, and was immediately rushed into emergency surgery. he continues to recover.
The general public is invited to the Sherman Village Park Amphitheater on Saturday, October 29 from 5-9pm to show support for Jaden and his family at a free movie night event.
At 5pm, the site features a live DJ, yard games, food from local vendors and restaurants, soft drinks, water, hot chocolate, coffee, hot apple cider, movie popcorn, raffle items, and more. The movie “Remember the Titans” will be shown on jumbo screens at 6:30pm.
This isn’t the first time the community has rallied for an injured player.
There is no admission fee, but we are asking for donations to help Jaden and his family slowly recover. It will be a cash only event. Donation checks are accepted as well.
