If there’s one thing you immediately know about the people of Sioux Empire, they love the chance to check out brand new restaurants. And luckily we have another new one to test drive with Brandon.
Gruff Plates + Pours recently opened in mid-September. Rumor has it that they have already made a big impression on the residents of the area.
Dakota News Now reports that both Attic Bar and Grill outlets in Sioux Falls are owned and operated by the same group. that in the attic.

Kenny Bass, director of marketing at Gruff, told Dakota News Now: The atmosphere is fun and lively. ”
According to Bass, The Gruff is more than just food. The bar within The Gruff has created some unique drinks and is rapidly building a reputation for its many ways of supporting and embracing the Sioux Falls area.
A case in point is the one brewed here in October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Gruff has teamed up with Coors Light and Dakota Beverage all month to feature ‘Taps for Ta-Tas’. The Gruff donated his 50 cents from the tall Coors Light Draft sold in October to the Sanford Foundation to help fight breast cancer.
The restaurant chose its name from the Norwegian fairy tale “Three Goats in Junk”. They promise to offer a menu full of American classics, from the soon-to-be-legendary Goat He burger to chicken bruschetta to Dragon Slayer. Enjoy 5 different flatbread pizza sandwiches and a variety of salads and desserts. Honestly, after looking at their menu, there seems to be a little something for everyone, including the rather extensive Rug Rats (kids menu).
If you’re planning on heading east to Brandon to sample The Gruff, don’t go out as it’s closed on Mondays. However, it is open every other day from 11am at 507 North Spiltrock Boulevard.
