A select number of tickets to Broadway’s 25th anniversary performance The Lion King Benefits the Entertainment Community Fund (formerly the Actors Fund). This organization supports the needs of those working in the entertainment and performing arts industries. The Lion King‘s 25th anniversary performance will take place at the Minskoff Theater on November 13th.
“We are honored to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The Lion King On Broadway with everyone at the Minskoff Theater and the Disney Theater,” said Joe Benincasa, president and CEO of the Entertainment Community Fund. “Since its inception in 1997, they have always been incredible supporters of the Foundation and the work we do to care for our community. I can’t wait!”
The Tony Award-winning musical officially opened at the New Amsterdam Theater on November 13, 1997 before moving to the Minskoff Theater in June 2006. It is still performed there today. During the show he had 28 touring and international productions, watched by 110 million people. Today, 115,000 people enjoy the show every week in his nine productions on three continents.
