A Chinese student at a British university yelled obscenities at a student and blocked a PowerPoint presentation in which a slide read “Taiwan is a country.”
A Chinese student at the University of Southampton shared a clip of the incident. Weibo October 22nd.
According to a Weibo user with the handle Gong Zheng Ah Gong Zheng, a Japanese student showed Taiwan’s flag in a PowerPoint slide stating “Taiwan is a country” during a team presentation on October 21.
In the video, the shadow of the student’s hand can be seen blocking the projector and covering the Taiwanese flag. You can also hear Chinese students booing and shouting, “Taiwan is part of China.” The Weibo user boasted about his behavior toward Japanese students.

“China’s sovereignty will never be violated!” he reportedly caption for his post. “I will be proud for the rest of my life.”
In the video, two non-Chinese students are also seen laughing at their Chinese classmates before the Chinese demand the Japanese student to change the presentation to the next slide.
The University of Southampton has not commented on the incident.
