This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured Ronda Rousey issuing an open challenge for her SmackDown Women’s Championship. In a nice surprise, Emma answered the call.
She lost the match, of course, because there was simply no way she could beat Rousey in her first match, but it was a good way to reintroduce her to a fanbase that, assuming they don’t watch many other fights, haven’t seen her since 2017.
She tweeted the following after her appearance:
And gave this storyline interview:
“I can’t tell you how good it is to be back. I waited five years for tonight – five years to make sure I would never be forgotten. And now I know exactly what I have to do to beat the champ.
During this time, she was officially added to the WWE roster page under the Smack down brand, so it looks like we can expect it on the blue brand in the future. It works really well, given that the women’s division needed depth there and his arrival creates just that.
Glad she’s back?
