Syracuse, NY — The entertainment retailer that left Destiny USA ten years ago is back.
FYE (For Your Entertainment) recently opened in 4,500 square feet of retail space on the first floor of the mall.
Dubbed “the premier pop culture destination for the whole family,” FYE sells brand-name collectibles, apparel, candy, plush toys, home décor, and other items. , Squishmallow, Funko, and Naruto are among the popular brand names shoppers will find on FYE.
Jodie Evans, FYE’s chief merchandising officer, said in a news release announcing the opening: of the Syracuse store.
Albany-based FYE, then owned by Trans World Entertainment, expanded in 2001 after acquiring mall-based stores and rebranding them. We closed our Destiny USA store in New York, and in 2018 we closed our Great Northern Mall store in Clay. The company also closed many other stores around the same time, citing declining mall traffic.
FYE currently operates nearly 200 stores nationwide and hopes to continue expanding the FYE brand to more locations. We aim to “accept the need to touch, listen to and experience the product.”
The latest FYE can be found in the former FootAction space next to Buckle in Destiny USA.
