Champaign, IL (WAND) – Planned Parenthood of Champaign has expanded its facilities for in-hospital abortion patients.
“This facility was completed just a few months ago. A complete renovation of the first floor. There was nothing here before, so it’s a completely newly renovated space.”
In today’s press conference and tour, Jennifer Welch, CEO and President of Planned Parenthood in Illinois, explained how the facility will expand to 5,000 square feet and provide care to patients in the area.
“We see patients forced to flee their communities to get basic health care, and patients forced to become pregnant against their will. Abortion numbers are at an all-time high,” said Welch.
During a tour of the new ultrasound room, lab and recovery room for future patients, Fetters explained how this expansion will help.
“It benefits everyone. It benefits the community, it benefits not just the people who are here for these services. staff, and more staff with more experience,” said Fetters.
Welch also said Planned Parenthood in Illinois plans to continue serving and will continue to serve women across the country.
