Doctor Erica CovingtonAssociate Professor of Business Administration, Former Dean Coppin State Universitywas appointed to the board of directors of Ark Baltimore.
Experienced in the fields of business and organizational leadership, Covington’s passion for social justice and concern for her hometown of Baltimore have led to fluctuating leadership styles within the Baltimore Police Department and how those styles have influenced patrol officers. Her study was born assessing how it affects motivation. Her other research interests include sustainable business development in urban communities and using leadership styles to develop effective organizational practices.
Covington was elected to Ark Baltimore’s Board of Directors at the organization’s 2022 Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony.

If you hadn’t chosen your current occupation, which one would you choose and why?
If I hadn’t had higher education, I would have gone to law school and become a lawyer. I have always been interested in law and justice. I remember being totally obsessed with mysteries and crime-solving as a kid. As I got older, it turned into a desire to see justice for those in need.

I practice yoga (I am also a certified yoga instructor).
