Thursdays are for gourmets who want to grab a bite to eat at an affordable price.
Food trucks selling a variety of delicacies are parked and ready to serve every Thursday night at Skinner Plaza in Hagåtña. From Japanese snacks to tacos and even fiesta plates, each truck whets the breeze around Skinner Plaza.
Evenings cater to those trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle with smoothies and low-calorie dishes.
An island visitor like Louie De Ramos said he and his friends stopped by to try Guam’s Fiesta Plate and get familiar.
“We just wanted to try food that reminded us of home,” Delamos said.
Guam resident Vasily Buchkov, originally from the mainland, had similar thoughts to Mr. Delamos. Familiarity with Butchkoff becomes stronger due to his and his family’s Hispanic heritage, saying that the Fiesta plates “are like the food of his hometown.”
Many residents also find food truck nights convenient on the wallet and on time. This is especially true for younger demographics.
