JACKSONVILLE, FL — Foodies! Hello Weekend is here. What is Halloween without sweets?
San Marco’s favorites enchant donuts to make eyeballs and graveyards tantalizing. Just across the river from the Georgia vs. Florida game, get ready for some spooky treats from Good Dough just in time for Halloween!
“Good Dough, if you know anything about us, we really want to get involved with holidays and stuff,” said head barista Chase Perna. I made a different, creepy choice.”
It could be a ghost.
“I got a pumpkin cinnamon sandworm,” Perna said. “I have Boston’s Cream Graveyard donuts. I also do spooky jelly-filled eyeballs for my horrified head out there. Go try them!”
Pre-order these spooky donuts Saturday and Sunday, or grab your chance to pick them up in store.
“We have the Booberry Lemon Ghost Donut,” Perna said. “Caramel apple bombs, pumpkins of all kinds. She also makes donuts. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin cake cream cheese, pumpkin everything.”
Autumn donuts are available until the first week of November. Then it’s time for the next holiday.
“Watch out for that turkey donut,” said Perna. “I’m sure she’s got something crazy going on, but I don’t know yet.”
Friday is vegan donut day. Perna’s favorite is Vegan Molly Her Ringwald. It’s made with vegan dough and a raspberry glaze topped with all-natural sprinkles.
“My name is Chase. Don’t forget to tip the barista!” Perna said.
And don’t forget that dough goes where it’s good: Good Dough is located at 1636 Hendricks Avenue.
