GREAT FALLS — Executive Chef and Co-Owner of Ember and the Block in downtown Great Falls, Mike Hallahan, will be on the episode of “The Guy’s Grocery Game” airing Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 6:00 PM. I will perform.
Hosted by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, the series challenges chefs across the country to three elimination cooking challenges using ingredients found in grocery stores known as “Flavortown Markets.”
Hallahan is the second chef from Great Falls to appear on the show. Roadhouse Diner’s Tara Beam made her debut in 2017.
Hallahan said, “When I was first asked about it, I called Tara for advice.
Hallahan says it’s great to see Great Falls restaurants starting to gain national recognition.
“I think the food scene in Great Falls is evolving,” he said. “I think we’re seeing people with more creative ideas gaining a foothold, especially with some of the things we’re doing with The Block and Enbar.”
“We’re still in Great Falls, and it has a small-town feel, but gives it a big-city charm,” he said.
Hallahan said he can’t share details about the episode until after it airs, but it’s definitely worth watching to see Great Falls represented on national networks.
“You will laugh a lot. It was one of the most intense and exciting experiences of my life, but it was fun,” he said. “The contestants I played against were amazing. They were great chefs. Working with Guy and getting advice from the other judges was a great experience overall .”
The Block will host a public viewing party for the episode on Wednesday at 6pm.
