This month is full of fun events. Here are some for local churches and faith-based organizations.
Riverlakes Community Church Harvest festival today.
There are book giveaways, bounce houses, hot dogs, cotton candy and more. The free event is open to invited neighbors and friends.
Join us from 10am to 3pm on the south lawn of the RiverLakes campus (4301 Calloway Drive).
On Wednesday, Stay Focused Ministries will “What the Hey” Pumpkin patch event.
Children will receive free pumpkins. There is also music for children, free candy, popcorn and face painting.
The event will be held behind the Stay Focused Ministries office at 1225 California Ave from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
The first Presbyterian Church Harvest festival October 29th.
There’s a ‘trunk or treat’ car decorated with lots of candy, carnival games, a live DJ from 88.3 Life FM, photo booths, food vendors, a bounce house and more.
The event is free with food from vendors for sale. Please wear the best costume that is not scary and participate!!
The celebration takes place at the church at 1795 17th St. from 5-7:30 pm.
Bakersfield Community Church of Brethren trunk or treat October 31st.
From 6-8pm, take the kids to the church parking lot (327 A St.) for an evening of sweets and fun.
Canyon Hills Assembly of God invites community to annual event Harvest Carnival October 31st.
For decades, Canyon Hills carnivals have offered a fun, family-friendly alternative to trick-or-treating.
Kids of all ages can enjoy free carnival games, bounce houses, free train rides, rock walls and laser tag.
Enjoy a special guest and musical performance from Bakersfield legend and Bakersfield Sound pioneer Tommy Hayes and his band.

Food is available for purchase and benefits the various ministries of Canyon Hills. A local food truck is also on site and ready to serve unique dishes to guests. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks are free for children 12 and under.
The festival is held at 7001 Auburn St. on the eastern edge of campus from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
