Christmas comes to the MCU in the form of fan-favorite Guardians of the Galaxy.
On Tuesday, Disney released a trailer for its Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special. This special will serve as a Marvel Studios special presentation releasing directly to Disney+, similar to the Werewolf by Night special presentation.
Audiences recently saw Guardians of the Galaxy in action at the beginning of Thor: Love and Thunder. 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War” was the last time they had a major role. 3” will be released in theaters in 2023.
The trailer opens with Kraglin mentioning to the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy that Christmas time on Earth is approaching. After losing Gamora, Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, is depressed and depressed, and the rest of the Guardians are there for their friends and want to cheer him up for the holidays. It focuses on the Guardian’s mission to give Christmas.
In the trailer, Drax and Mantis land on Earth to find the perfect Christmas gift for Quill, while the rest of the Guardians try to get Quill into the holiday spirit. A montage of scenes sees Groot mature beyond her teenage self we saw in “Infinity War,” “Endgame,” and “Thor: Love and Thunder.” I also saw Space Dog Cosmo for the first time. Cosmo made a brief cameo appearance in his first Guardians of the Galaxy, but it looks like he’ll have a bigger role in the special.
The trailer also showed off another big cameo, Kevin Bacon. Across the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise, Quill has an affinity for Bacon and his film ‘Footloose’, calling it ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ the best movie of all time. Drax and Mantis use the trailer to try to deliver bacon to Quill as his present for Christmas.
In true James Gunn fashion, this special is going to be as hilarious and hilarious a presentation as the previous Guardians of the Galaxy films. With this charismatic cast of characters and Gunn’s directing, the Christmas theme is a perfect fit for this franchise.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be available on Disney+ on November 25th.
