Foodie movie buffs… this is for you. And it’s pretty much for everyone else who eats food, too.
Jane Pickens Film and Event Center will host its first “Foodie Film Festival” starting Friday, November 4th. The festival will feature 12 food-related films over his eight nights through Sunday, November 13th.At this event, Pickens will discover newport As well as some area restaurants.The festival overlaps newport restaurant week.

We spoke with Pickens owner Kathy Staab to learn more about how she put the event together. The theater has recently hosted several themed screenings, including a collection of spooky movies for Halloween.
“I thought a lot about the different customer base and tried to incorporate a wide range of movies,” she explained. “During Restaurant Week, you can have an affordable meal at one of these restaurants and then go to the movies,” Staab added.
Starb is particularly excited about the new film The Art of Eating: The Life and Appetites of MFK Fisher.
