Matthew Perry was moved to tears as he thought back to how his addiction to pills and alcohol caused his weight to fluctuate…and he feels sorry for his old self.
The ‘Friends’ star got super emotional on her ABC special with Diane Sawer, cry when they played a clip of him on the sitcom looking super skinny.
Matthew estimates he weighed 155 pounds. in the clip and he says it illustrates the toll his pill addiction has had on his body…he says the meds crushed his appetite and he lost a ton of weight to the point that it was unhealthy.
MP told Diane his weight had dropped to 128 pounds and said at the time he was “out of control” and didn’t know what was going on.
Matthew says he also gained weight when he was drinking heavily…and looking back, he feels sorry for himself at those times. ABC airs clips of Matthew on “Friends” and it’s clear how much his weight changed from season to season while he was plagued by addiction.

As we reported… Matthew also explained how he was able to break the cycle of addiction after 6,000 AA meetings and 15 stays in rehabilitation centers.

For Matthew, he says the people around him helped keep him on the straight and narrow…and he singles out Jennifer Aniston for being there for him during “Friends” and after.
