EATONTON — “Matt Kane lay face down in a muddy field, barely clinging to life…for some reason, he never thought he could be the subject of a professional hit.”
These words set the stage for Operation Destiny, Don Lloyd’s historical fiction mystery novel set in the mid-1950s.
Lloyd will be the presenter of the Writers Museum of Georgia’s ‘Meet the Author’ at the museum on November 1st. The event starts at 7pm (she opens at 6:30) and costs $15 per person (she costs $10 for 2 or more people). Contact the Georgia Writers Museum or www.georgiawritersmuseum.org to register and pre-order copies of Lloyd’s Mysteries.
Well, back to the story.
The protagonist is ambushed in an unremarkable public park on Lake Minnetonka in the peaceful community of Excelsior, Minnesota, and an investigation is launched to uncover a global conspiracy. As an investigative journalist, Matt Cain often pushed boundaries. This is a skill I learned as an Army Intelligence Officer during World War II. He sought out the undetected and published what he saw for everyone to see. His curiosity and persistence nearly cost him his life .
Unbeknownst to him, the attempt on his life was just part of a plot to reorganize the world. But who was behind the betrayal…and what role does he play in the operation?
Those who came to the event can hear the continuation of the story.
