FULTON – John McConnell, one of Central New York’s premier singers, songwriters and guitarists, will be a featured performer at the Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Giving Thanks Celebration.
McConnell’s unique brand, Solo Indie Lounge, blends elements of blues, jazz, soul and folk. He has been an integral part of the CNY music scene for almost 20 years. McConnell has played thousands of gigs from upstate New York to New York City to Los Angeles. He won the 2022 Sammy Award for his untrained fingers on McConnell’s guitar. His style approach produces a discernible sound and groove.
On Friday, November 4th, McConnell will perform songs from his vast repertoire, including original songs, to provide entertainment for OCO’s Giving Thanks celebration.

Presented by G & C Foods and Eagle Beverages, OCO Thanksgiving will be held at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center on East First Street in Oswego. Giving Thanks serves as a way to highlight OCO’s many programs and services and as a fundraiser to ensure that these programs and services remain available to those in need. Proceeds from this event will benefit his OCO’s Giving That Grows initiative, which focuses on fighting hunger and food insecurity in our communities.
A one-of-a-kind food and drink pairing, OCO’s Giving Thanks will feature food samples from several restaurants and eateries in the area. Food stations throughout the venue will offer attendees the opportunity to sample harvest season delicacies, paired with wine and beer samples specially selected to complement the food featured at each station. There will also be many drawings and live entertainment.
