MT. Auburn, Illinois (WAND) – Join if you dare! The haunted forest of Mount Auburn’s Creek Hill is ready to terrify anyone who steps onto its 3/4 mile outdoor trail .
About 40 volunteers join the 10-acre site every weekend in October.
The trail is open Friday and Saturday from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Despite the thrills and chills, the organizers want visitors to have a good time.
“They really seem to be having fun, but they also look scared. You know that’s what the game is about… to get scared,” said co-owner Jennifer Brummell.
As you walk along the trail, you’ll come across a variety of attractions, including a circus, a haunted lake, and a train.
General admission is $8 per person, and speed passes are $13.
She says she tries to keep costs low in order to provide affordable activities for families on a budget.
“It’s hard right now, so we want to keep prices down while still getting people to do something fun locally,” Brummell said.
This attraction raises funds for a local food pantry.
Brummell recommends purchasing tickets in advance website.
