The Philadelphia Phillies roll into NLCS Game 4 with a 2-1 series lead San Diego Padres and a home crowd surely thirsty for the chance to clinch the pennant in Game 5 on Sunday. Friday Night Game 3 win sums up so much about the Phillies’ often bizarre and never boring run through the end of October. Baseball wasn’t a virgin, but when they needed a big hit, they got it – this time from Jean Segura. The Padres, who pulled off similar magic in Game 2 and against the Dodgersnow need to answer.
San Diego sends starter No. 4 Mike Clevinger to the mound, while the Phillies will go left-handed Bailey Falter. The 25-year-old is yet to pitch in the playoffs, but has provided strong second-half runs. Philadelphia will likely rely on the bullpen again, as manager Rob Thomson expects Falter to work only once in the lineup.
Game 4 begins Saturday night at 7:45 p.m. ET on Fox. You can follow right here on Yahoo Sports.
