King Charles is looking for £40,000 a year garden keepers.
The Buckingham Palace-based position has a 39-hour week and the perfect candidate must be “passionate about plants,” according to an ad revealed by the Mail Online Monday night.(31.10. twenty two)
An advertisement on the royal website reads:
“You’ll be proud to see thousands of people enjoying them at your garden party.”
The manager will look after gardens “admired by thousands” and offer the opportunity to work at “a world-renowned institution,” he adds.
Applicants will also reportedly be “committed” to “shaping the future” of the Royal Gardens, a role that also includes tending lawns and caring for borders of shrubs, herbs and roses.
With the same 3 November application deadline as the Buckingham Palace job, a £38,000 a year garden and nursery keeper is also being hired at Windsor Castle.
The advertisement for this position reads: As well as implementing our garden conservation plans, we lead new professional projects to protect and enhance the rich biodiversity of our gardens. “
The ad follows reports that Charles wants a simplified coronation ceremony as part of a plan to give Britain a “good value for money” monarchy.
