Ramada by Wyndham is seeking a foodie social media influencer with “strong writing skills” to become its first-ever “Chief Eats Officer” for its 2023 special assignment. Jenny Southan reports.
Temporary roles require the “Chief Eats Officer” to travel the globe, sample meals, and share photos in real time on the hotel brand’s social media and marketing channels.
Sounds like a dream job, how much does it pay? Ramada by Wyndham, which has facilities in 63 countries, said it would offer her a US$10,000 “compensation” for up to three weeks of work, plus US$150 a day for her ground travel expenses.
The brand covers hotels (Ramada by Wyndham properties) and flights, and also offers upgrades to Wyndham Rewards Diamond Membership and “To Do List Travel Experiences.”

The Chief Eats Officer’s responsibilities include traveling to up to eight countries and documenting curated “must eat” lists on social media.
The Chief Eats Officer’s creative content and experiences will be featured on Ramada’s branded website and social media channels to help “inspire other travelers to sample the world at Ramada.”
Required qualifications:
- Actively familiar with various social media accounts (preferably TikTok and Instagram).
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Over the age of 21 with a valid passport.
- Travel for up to 3 weeks is possible in summer 2023.
- Self-proclaimed gourmet.
- Good writing skills (required for blog writing).
- Work remotely and comfortably on deadline.
- All applicable Covid-19 protocols must be followed based on the requirements set by each country you visit.
- Applicants must be residents of Argentina, Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Mexico, New Zealand, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, or the United States.

Video submissions must be at least two minutes long, and applicants are encouraged to demonstrate food and travel talent, storytelling skills, and social savvy.
