Maynard James Keenan’s project, rock band Puscifer, will perform at Baton Rouge’s River Center on Saturday, October 29th.
The concert starts at 8:00 pm. Fans of Keenan’s other bands, including Tool and Perfect Her Circle, should expect a fresh experience unlike any other. Pucifer combines the talents of British singer-songwriter Carina Round and guitarist Mat Mitchell to form a strong and unique sound with Keenan.
The concert is part of the second phase of Puscifer’s ‘Existential Reckoning’ tour, based on the band’s 2020 album and blending music and live theater.
‘Existential Reckoning’ is a pulsating, avant-garde effort that draws influences of electropop, experimental rock, and industrial music into the album unlike anything the band has produced before. Altogether, these influences form together to create a vibratory, rhythmic wave of songs.
“It’s fun to see how the audience reacts to our presentations,” said Keenan.
Each Puscifer album has its own story played live, adding to the band’s unique concerts.
“Each album has a different theme, which means a different live production,” Round explained.
The tour came two years after the album’s release due to the massive impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the music industry, but said the round was worth the wait.
“It’s just that people know the song too well,” Round said.
The concert takes place inside the Baton Rouge River Center Theater. Tickets are still available, starting at $45.
