Temporary blackouts hit the regions of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkov, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kirovohrad.
Ukrainian officials say the Russian strike has destroyed about 30% of the country’s autotransformers. Autotransformers are important for sending power along the country’s distribution grid.
