SHELBYVILLE — Flourishes’ Keepers of the Arts have big plans to celebrate Shelbyville through art this year.
There are currently many activities planned from April to November in the visual arts, arts and crafts, music, dance, theater and creative activities. More will be added.
Initial activities include the Shelby County Art Show featuring volunteers associated with the Keepers of the Arts and art sightings found within the Shelbyville address.
The Shelby County Art Show will be open to the public April 15-16 at the Shelbyville Lake Visitor Center and will include demonstrations, music and special exhibits as well as the exhibit itself. Plans are currently being formed and final information will be announced in early February.
The Shelbyville Sightings exhibit, which features real-life locations for all to see and hard-to-reach locations like people and building interiors, opens Saturday, April 22nd. Artists in the area may exhibit art depicting the Shelbyville area. Forest Park Sunken Gardens, General Daisy Trail, street or road views, landscapes, people living at the Shelbyville address, vases in someone’s home, gardens, and perhaps pets are all acceptable subjects. .
The Keepers of Arts will ask artists to bring their work to the Flourishes Gallery and Studios beginning April 1st. Three-dimensional works are also recommended. We welcome all ages.
