Utah (ABC4) – After surveying more than 180 U.S. cities and analyzing 29 key “foodie-friendliness” metrics, from restaurant spending to the number of food festivals per capita, WalletHub found that Salt We decided that Lake City was the 30th best foodie. US cities in 2022.
According to Oxford Languages, a “foodie” is someone who has a special interest in food, especially gourmet food. Salt Lake isn’t necessarily known for its particular cuisine, but the urban oasis is lined with excellent eateries, cafes and bars.
In short, WalletHub determined each location’s food affordability score and food variety, accessibility, and quality scores out of 182. From there, the organization calculated an average score for each city across all metrics considered.
Ultimately, the survey proves that SLC is America’s 30th best foodie city. In terms of affordability, Salt Lake ranked 139th out of his 182, confirming residents’ belief that the city is actually expensive. However, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Salt Lake ranked 24th out of 182 US cities included in a survey of food diversity, availability and quality.
In terms of diversity, some of SLC’s best restaurants specialize in foreign cuisine. For example, Red Iguana is arguably he one of the best Mexican restaurants downtown. Considering its accessibility, Salt Lake has no shortage of dining and drinking options. WalletHub notes that SLC has the most coffee shops per capita in him than any other city in the United States.according to YelpSLC’s top 10 restaurants are all above 4 stars.
