‘SNL’ alum Chris Red smiles through the pain after being attacked in New York…his nose is stitched up and his eyes are swollen and bruised.
TMZ obtained these photos of the injuries Chris suffered when he was ambushed by a man with brass knuckles this week on his way to the Comedy Cellar.
As you can see, the gash on Chris’ nose has been stitched up… and he has two black eyes. But the comedian’s body is slowly recovering.

We are told regardless of the awful situation Chris finds himself, he feels very happy and lucky.
TMZ broke the story…Chris was rushed to hospital after the attack and now the police are comb through surveillance footage in the hope of identifying the culprits.

Chris also had his Greg Yuna chain ripped off in the ambush, but he was able to retrieve the bling, despite it being in pieces. Still, the chain can be easily restored.
