The outlook for the Watseka Public Library two weeks ago was as follows:
The library has acquired scratch-off posters for the “100 Greatest Books of All Time”. Be the first to read the classic book on the poster in 2023 and you can scratch off the poster square and win a ticket to the grand prize drawing to win a Kindle or Barnes & Noble gift card.
The library launched a year-long reading challenge, “Adventure 365,” through the Beanstack app. This challenge is for all ages and does not require a library card. Track your reading throughout 2023 and win prizes and tickets to our Kindle or $100 Barnes and Noble gift card grand prize drawing!
During the week of January 30th, a children’s drop-in craft “Tissue Paper Snowman” is available.
On Wednesday, February 1st, at 10:00 AM, we’re hosting a preschool storytime, “Groundhog Yay.”
On Thursday, February 2nd, we will be having a discussion at the Teen Book Club about Katherine Blair’s YA novel, “Unchosen.” A complimentary Starbucks drink is included in the discussion. There are several free copies available for teens to pick up and keep. Alternatively, you can check out a library copy. The week of February 5th, Kids Drop-in Crafts: Paper Plate Helmets will be available.
On Wednesday, February 8th at 10:00 am we will have a preschool storytime “touchdown”.
On February 9th (Thursday) from 10:00 am, an adult craft “wine bottle decoration” will be held. Sign up required.
Make & Take Valentine with the WCHS Men’s Basketball Team on Monday, February 13th from 3:30-5:30!
For those interested in starting a club that meets at the library, please email your proposal to Darcy at watsekadirector@gmail.com.
