In 2022, David Fritzell and the late Buddy Holly will also be inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.
“Looking at who else is out there, I don’t think it’s penetrated yet. Wednesday’s ceremony was also attended by Cindy Gilley, wife of the late great Mickey Gilley, who was also inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011. During her appearance, Cindy created a Mickey plaque, which she announced would also be on display inside the theater.
“Our plaques are on display together in honor of him and the Hall of Fame, and that we are here is something else,” Collins said. “He was such a nice guy, homely and friendly, and that is what we want to be. I am thinking.”
JC Fisher not only shares the title with Mickey, but added what it’s like to perform on Branson’s stage.
