Butte County, Idaho (KIFI) – The hunt for expired hunters continues.
According to the Bute County Sheriff’s Office, 73-year-old Ammon Michael Farrar went hunting on Oct. 19 and has been missing since.
Crew and volunteers are looking for him from North Creek Road near the Little Lost River Highway north of Howe.
His red Honda ATV was found on the second day of the search, and a search party with both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters provided air coverage weather permitting to assist the search effort. The terrain is very rugged and rough, making the search difficult.
Dozens of volunteers have helped in the search.
The search is ongoing and will continue for the time being. Search efforts are reevaluated and may change based on circumstances and other factors.
“The Butte County Sheriff’s Office and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all those who contributed in any way to the search effort, whether through physical efforts or behind-the-scenes assistance. We appreciate and appreciate the community response. Please help,” the sheriff’s office said.
