st.petersburg, florida – Texas-based chain Torchy’s Tacos is gearing up to open its first location in Sunshine State, with a second not too far behind.
The first store in Florida will open at Tyrone Blvd 2314 in St. Petersburg. Wednesday, February 1, according to the news release.

According to the company, the first 100 guests in line will receive a limited-edition Torchy’s restaurant opening t-shirt that will give them a year’s free queso if they go to a store in St. Petersburg. You can
The company also plans to open 999 N. State Road 434 in Altamonte Springs in May, though an exact opening date has yet to be set.

Originally, Torquays was scheduled to open in Altamonte Springs in the summer of 2022, but those plans have been postponed.
The company said it is also planning an Orlando store at the Vineland Pointe shopping complex at 11513 Regency Village Drive, but did not provide a timeline for that store’s opening.

Torchy’s first announced it’s coming to Florida in December 2021.

Torchy’s Tacos was founded in Austin, Texas in 2006 and now has stores in 14 states, primarily in the South and Midwest, according to the company.
Torchy’s menu offers a variety of Tex-Mex tacos, including salads, burritos, and breakfast tacos. The website says not all locations have bars, but they also serve margaritas and other mixed drinks.
