Hanover Township, Lucerne County (WBRE/WYOU) — At approximately 3:00 pm on October 29, first responders were called after reports of a plane crash on St. Mary’s Road in Hanover Township.
Hanover Township Police Chief David Lewis confirmed two people were killed. One was on the plane and another of his died in the area around Liberty Hills.


The two-seat plane took off from Wyoming Valley Airport at Forty Fort and crashed on the grounds of Dolan’s Farm on St. Mary’s Road.
Chief Lewis reports that the plane crashed about 100 feet from where the children were loading on the farm’s hayride attraction, and bystanders were uninjured on the ground.
“I was walking and saw this plane. It came as if it was on its way, and when I tried to get in front of the plane, I heard a bang after the plane sank heavily,” said Eileen Melone, who lives in the Liberty Hills community. I witnessed the crash.
Representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration are at the scene along with the Lucerne County Coroner’s Office, Officer Lewis reported.
