Vanessa Hudgens stars in a new virtual reality experience from horror director Eli Roth.
The 33-year-old actress welcomes viewers to the “ultimate haunted house” of Eli Roth’s Haunted House: Trick-VR-Treat in Meta’s new exclusive.
The project comes from the Roth’s Crypt TV banner and takes fans on a Halloween adventure that goes terribly wrong and culminates in an immersive haunted house.
The 30-minute, 180-degree VR experience is written and directed by Roth and premieres on Meta’s Horizon Worlds and Meta Quest TV on Friday (21.10.22). You can also watch the experience on Crypt TV’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
The story of “Trick-VR-Treat” is told from the perspective of a teenager in the most exciting Halloween district in town who is invited to the infamous haunted Dollhouse by a young woman dressed as a fairy (Hudgens).
The viewer then enters a living nightmare inside the eerie former home of the Dollmaker, who once made toys for all the children in the area.
But the glue she used was toxic, and everyone who played with the toy died — including her own two daughters.
This is Hudgens’ first appearance in a VR project and was cast alongside Will Sasso.
In a statement, she said: “It’s been a blast working with Eli Roth, Crypto TV and Meta to bring this terrifying story to life.
“When you think about how viewers can experience an immersive 180-degree experience, it adds so many exciting new elements to playing the character. All I can say is you will be terrified…and you will love it.”
Roth adds:
