From 2012 to 2017, a man named William Hartman was employed as a heavy equipment operator at the Pickle Butte Landfill in Idaho. At the end of five years there, Hartman was fired after a hearing regarding the use of narcotics to treat chronic pain. commenced legal proceedings suing the landfill alleging discrimination based on disability in violation of the Americans Act (“ADA”); and (b) unlawful retaliation in violation of Title VII. of the Civil Rights Act (“Title VII”).

5. The fellowship program aims to increase capacity to tackle food waste

The Environmental Defense Fund and ReFed have put together resources to establish a fellowship program for food industry companies and professionals in “green” professions. The fellowship program matches these graduate students with companies to help develop strategies to eliminate food waste.
