PARKERSBURG, Virginia (WTRF) — A supposed ghost island in the Ohio River in West Virginia will soon be featured in the show’s episode “Ghost Hunters”, it is reported.
Blennerhassett Island Historic State Park outside Parkersburg in Wood County has long been rumored to have paranormal activity. Island settlers, a ghost child wandering in a mansion built by Herman and Margaret Brenner Hassett, wealthy Irish aristocrats fleeing political persecution and personal scandal, the people of Delaware and their chief, Nemacolin The Native American legend of the is a well-known story in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Blennerhassett Island is also famous for its rich history, including Aaron Burr’s Conspiracy circa 1805. Burr reportedly tried to commit treason to create a new nation independent of the United States. The plot failed and the Brenner-Hassett family fled the island.
Visitors to the area seek paranormal terror at Point Pleasant in Mason County, West Virginia, where the Silver Bridge collapsed in 1967 and the Mothman was first sighted in 1966. You can also move south.
